Maria Telegina is a Project Assistant Professor at Tokyo University, Tokyo College. Her primary research interests are cognitive semantics, corpus linguistics, and application of quantitative methods of language data analysis and digital humanities’ methods to language teaching and learning.

Prior to joining Tokyo University, she was a Project Assistant Professor at Kobe University. She conducted her DPhil on perception and expression of time and space in Japanese native speakers at the Research Centre for Japanese Language and Linguistics, Oriental Institute, University of Oxford.
